We hope that you enjoy using the guidebook you’ve bought from Printslinger. This might be The Extra Mile, The Coastal Café Guide, or The Farm Shop Guide. We really are very human and want you to enjoy your book, so should any of the below need to happen, we’ll do our best to be as quick and helpful as possible.
Damaged books
If your book arrives damaged or has printer errors such as missing pages, binding or paper trimming issues, kindly send photos to us at hello@theextramile.guide. If a refund or a replacement guide is in order, we will cover postage and will either refund your original order or issue you with a new copy, as you prefer, as soon as we can. Our Refund and Returns policy lasts 30 days from the delivery date of your order (you must post it back on or before 30 days from the delivery date).
General returns
We do not offer free postage for general returns, i.e. because it isn’t quite what you were after or expecting. If you would like to cover your own postage and to return your book to our distributor for any reason (not if it is damaged etc, which is dealt with above), please email us as above before doing so. We’ll then give you our distributor’s postal details and will alert the distributor to expect the order’s return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also either be in the original packaging or in similarly robust packaging, to protect it in the post.
Our postage costs are non-refundable. So if you bought a book for £15.99 + £3 P&P (= £18.99) and you wanted to return it for general reasons – not because it was damaged – you could pay the return postage (perhaps of £4.50) to return it, and once the book was checked over, deemed fine for resale, and successfully scanned back into stock our end, you would be refunded £15.99.
Books not bought from us
We will consider refunds or replacement books only for books which were purchased from us. Please go to the person/ company/ shop you bought the book from if it wasn’t directly from us so that they can deal with your refund, return, or replacement.
To complete your refund or replacement
To complete your return for books bought from us, we require a receipt or proof of purchase in the form of your name and your online order number from our website. Please do not send your purchase back to the printer or distributor without contacting us to arrange this first.
There are certain situations where refunds aren’t possible:
- Books with obvious signs of use
- Books not in their original condition, or that are damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error or printing error
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after the order’s delivery date (going from the return’s postal delivery date).
Status of your refund
Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll be in touch by email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the status of your refund. Postage costs are not refundable as outlined above for general returns.
Approved refunds will be processed back onto your card using Stripe (the card system behind our online payments), and a credit will automatically be applied back to your card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Here at Printslinger, we’ll aim to action our side of this within three working days; it can then take up to ten working days for Stripe (the banking software) to process that refund back onto your card.
Late or missing refunds
If you haven’t received your refund and are beyond the above timeframe (of approx 13 working days), please email hello@theextramile.guide and we’ll look into it and get back to you as soon as possible.
Sale items
Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. Please email us as above to discuss an exchange.
Shipping costs
You will be responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning your item as our shipping costs are non-refundable and we do not offer free shipping for general returns. If you’re not sure if this is the book for you, it’s available to browse in many good bookshops and can also be ordered in by bookshops for you to have a look at without obligation to buy, so that could be the route to go down. Some online vendors also offer free returns within various timeframes.
